The Thanet Wind Farm (also sometimes called Thanet Offshore Wind Farm) is an offshore wind farm 7 miles (11 km) off the coast of Thanet district in Kent, England. As of September 2010, it is the world's biggest offshore windfarm. It has a nameplate capacity (maximum output) of 300 MW and it cost £780[3]-900 million (US$1.2-1.4 billion). It was officially opened on 23 September 2010, when it overtook Horns Rev 2 as the biggest off-shore wind-farm in the world.
